Anxiety Disorder Symptoms

Anxiety is something that everyone feels.

Anxiety is something that everyone feels. Whether it’s because of pressure or something that otherwise makes you blush, everyone will likely experience anxiety at some point in their lives. However, when anxiety starts to prevent you from living a normal life, you could suffer from an anxiety disorder. Understanding anxiety disorder symptoms, you can recognize whether or not your anxiety is mild or severe and decide what you can do to reduce anxious feelings.

Anxiety Disorder Symptoms

Likely, you’ve felt nervous before. However, anxiety disorder is not just a feeling of nervousness but a wide range of symptoms that make the body uneasy. Everyone has different responses to anxiety but, common anxiety disorder symptoms include:

Constant Nervous Feelings

Feeling nervous is normal. However, when experiencing nervousness that just doesn’t seem to go away, you could be suffering from an anxiety disorder.

Getting Worn Out Easily

Because you’re stressed, nervous, and likely sweating in response to your anxiety, it’s typical to feel tired. Though your mind is racing, your body feels weak and tired and you’re not likely going to want to move very much.

Trouble Getting and Staying Focused

When you have an anxiety disorder, your mind will constantly race. Because there are so many other things on the brain, you may find it hard to concentrate and get your mind focused on what you need to.

Tension in the Muscles

One of the body’s natural responses to nervousness is tension. We tense up our muscles as a form of protection, keeping us safe from threatening stimuli. However, with anxiety disorders, this tension just won’t seem to melt away, keeping your muscles in a constant tense state.

Overthinking and Worrying

A lot of us overthink but, we have the ability to stop it and get on with our day. With anxiety disorders, thoughts and worries take over and run around the brain over and over. These thoughts can be so intense that they prevent you from living your normal daily life.

Issues Falling Asleep

With thoughts, worries, and tensions, anxiety disorders can also affect your sleep. You may lie in bed with thoughts racing through your head and your heart pumping rapidly. If you find it hard to sleep, this too will get in the way of your daily tasks.

What To Do Next?

If you are experiencing anxiety disorder symptoms, you have a few options. First, you can try to find the things that cause your feelings of anxiety, reducing your interaction with them. If that doesn’t work and your symptoms are severe, talk with your medical doctor.

Anxiety disorder is something that, if not controlled, can get in the way of your job, family, and friends. Though it might seem limiting, there are so many just like you who are dealing with and overcoming anxiety, taking it one step at a time. Finding what causes your symptoms and reducing unnecessary stress in your life, you can reduce the severity of symptoms and control them before they flair up.
