If you think you may be suffering from anxiety, take a look at these signs of anxiety to see if you may need to take preventative measures or talk to your primary physician. 

What is Anxiety? 

Anxiety is known as your body’s response to fear. When we are scared or nervous, our body starts to do strange things as a reaction, producing common symptoms. If you think that you might be suffering from anxiety, here are some common signs to watch out for. 

What Are Signs of Anxiety? 

Though signs and their severity vary, take a look at these common signs to see if you may need to talk to your primary care physician. 

1. Decreased Ability to Focus 

You may feel really foggy and start noticing that these feelings start and stay around longer. The more anxious you become, the less you can maintain focus. 

2. Loss of Energy

In severe cases, you may find it hard to get out of bed or move from the couch. In less severe cases, you may start to realize that you no longer feel like being social or going out and doing the things you used to. 

3. Nervous Feeling

If you have an overall sense of insecurity and nervousness, it could be a sign of anxiety. This is especially true if you’re experiencing these feelings often. 

4. Irritability 

A constant feeling of unrest can make you very irritable. You may find that you do not enjoy company and you don’t like to be around people the way that you used to. 

5. Perfuse Sweating 

When you get nervous or anxious, your body naturally responds in many ways, one of which is sweat. Sweat is meant to calm the body down and restore it back to its normal state of being. 

6. Feeling Fidgety 

When your fidget, you can’t sit still. This fidgety action is a common sign of anxiety, making you uneasy and unable to relax and stay calm. 

7. A Sense of Fear 

Anxiety comes from fear but also produces a sense of unrest. A common sign of anxiety is a continuous sense of fear, one which you feel like you cannot shake. 

8. Inability to Rest 

With all the moving around and inability to concentrate, your body starts to wear out. If you feel like you can’t sit still and are constantly moving around, you could be dealing with anxiety. The inability to rest is connected with several other issues, including illness. 

Dealing with Signs of Anxiety

If you have signs of anxiety, you should first find the root cause. If they are severe, talk with your doctor to see about ways to reduce your signs and symptoms. Anxiety is common and you’re not alone, so seek support and learn more.
