Anxiety is something that affects us all at one time or another. Though many of us can overcome anxiety and live our lives like normal, others get overwhelmed by it and end up experiencing a lower quality of life. If you experience one or more of these symptoms and feel like you might be struggling with anxiety, you should make an appointment with your doctor. As with many symptoms, there are levels for each one, ranging from mild to severe. 

1. Feeling Frustrated 

Feeling frustrated is normal, especially if your job or home life is stressful. However, when you’re anxious, you start to feel frustrated all the time. It winds up taking away from your life and makes everything a daunting task. In severe cases, you’ll feel frustrated all the time and may become unbearable to be around. 

2. Restlessness 

Being anxious is tied to being nervous. If you feel like you can’t sit still and that you’re always thinking about what you need to do next, you could be suffering from anxiety. If your case is more severe, you could find it hard to sleep and rest throughout the day. 

3. Fatigue 

Due to heightened emotions and long bouts of restless feelings, you’re bound to start feeling fatigued. You may start to find it hard to get out of bed or get up off of the couch to be productive throughout your day. 

4. Difficulty Concentrating and Staying Focused

When you’re anxious, your mind races and is often focused on many other things. That’s why one common sign of anxiety is the inability to concentrate or stay focused for long periods of time. You may notice that it starts off small and gets worse as your anxiety worsens, something that might need medical attention. 

5. Panic Attacks 

One of the most severe anxiety symptoms is panic attacks. These attacks can take you by surprise and make you breathe faster and your heart pumps louder. Panic attacks can hit at any time anywhere and can completely alter the way that you function in public. Panic attacks are a very common symptom of anxiety, one that should be managed if possible. 

Managing your Symptoms

If you notice that you have one or more symptoms, you should start taking steps to prevent flare-ups. That means becoming more aware of the things around you that trigger anxious feelings, getting to the root of your symptoms. The earlier you get to the bottom of what’s causing your symptoms, the faster you can start getting rid of them. 

Anxiety is a common disorder that we will all experience at one time in our lives. There are levels of anxiety, some of them being quite severe. If it gets out of hand or overbearing, be sure to let someone know or visit your healthcare provider before it develops any further.
